Motif no 11

I had quite a busy coach ride whilst I was away, This one was made on the way home to Wales, from a book I purchased in Brussels, Tatting with visual patterns by Mary Konior. I found a lovely handicraft shop, just off the Grand Square in Brussels on Philipstocke Strasse, Thread, shuttles and books...and he knew what tatting was!!!!!

Motif no.10

This was made on the coach going to Ostend!! It is from a book by Lene Bjorn called 24 snowflakes in tatting. It consists of a few plain rings and lots of split rings, I worked in in Cebelia no 20.

Suprise hankie

I have finally finished the edge of my Irish Linin Hankerchief, My daughter sent for a box of assorted shuttles for Christmas for me, from eBay in 2005, An amazing assortment they were too! 4 inches long plastic, 2 narrow bone ones, very old with brass rivits, a red Boye, a cream boye, a silver one with a long bobbin inside, and a polished brass one, apart from a few clover in asstd colours. They came in a box with tissue paper underneath them, the tissue was a bit grubby and the box a little worse for wear, so I discarded it! Ron picked it up and before putting in the bin he looked beneath the paper and there was a new hankie a bit grubby, with the Irish Linin sticker on the corner, a little bit of Vanish powder and some gentlke swishing and it is as white as can be! The pattern is from an old, old coats A5 size leaflet, didn't need a magnifier for the tatting...used size 80.....but needed it for the writing!!
