Motifs no's16, 17, 18, and 19!!

We had an amzing Tatting Day in South Wales last Saturday, Jennifer Williams' class was playing with picots, the little green one is simple stacked (even) picots,Yellow one is graded picots, multi is Backward and foreward facing picots, Then came the white one,......Gathered picots. Caused a few strange words, and tied up fingers, but there was more to come!

Dropped picots!! Oh how difficult to do it wrongly on purpose!! I do it easily all the time, but on purpose? took a while to get in the rhythm. But she hadn't finished with us yet......

Double picots, make a long one, 3 ds, then pick up the long picot and tweak it to have two different lengths, Well we now relaxed for lunch, thinking we had got the worst done, and there was a motif with all the picots in it!

small picot, medium picot, gathered picot and graduated ones to boot.

And I haven't tried the Celtic knot picot yet! But I will master it before I go to class next week, so watch this space,....now that I have worked out how to put every photo on the blog, Goodness knows how many are floating around in the ether!!

1 - Thank you Sylvia for showing this. Have not tried the dropped picot or the gathered picots, but managed to do the Celtic knot picot once. Many new things to try with something so common as picots, :D.

4 - Fiddle, the message was cut off. Here's what the rest of it said: Good heavens, you have "DOUBLE PICOTS" !!! I've been away from tatting far too long, apparently.

I've looked at a number of your posts, they're all wonderful and lovely.

Happy tatting!
