motif no 12 and 13
I have had a rest from motifs, but am motivated again!!
This is from Mary Maynards book, Four Square Ring, It is the Green Diamonds, I have made it in a silver grey thread that I aquired a while ago, not sure of the name, think it is Turkish, It is silky and not the easiest thread to use, but saying that a beautifull finish when done. I was making a part of the doiley then was going to thread some hat elastic around the edge, fit a hair slide to the edge and then I would have a snood-like whatsit to put over my chignon to keep it tidy, Then I had a visit from my youngest daughter( a hair-dresser) Mum can I have a go at your hair you look like an old Grandma! (I have seven grand-children) So I had a make-over, I now have a long bob, with a pushed to the side fringe, (Ok, it has taken a few years off!!) so guess I will finish the doiley!!!!!
I am hooked..or should I say shuttled on a series of little books that I first saw in Brussels, I have all but the Easter Egg one. This is from the Crosses book. I usually tat them in white, but had a full shuttle of Coats 20 in this varied browns and beiges, I like the effect, may carry on with colour,
